Medvedev warns no-fly zone over Ukraine would trigger war with NATO
Russia’s Deputy Security Council Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has warned that establishing a no-fly zone over Ukraine and giving NATO countries the ability to shoot down Russian drones would amount to war between the Alliance and Russia.
“Implementing the provocative idea of Kyiv and other fools to create a ‘no-fly zone’ over Ukraine and allow NATO countries to strike our drones means only one thing — war between NATO and Russia,” Medvedev wrote on Telegram.
He also commented on the visit of Estonia’s Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur to Kyiv, saying that the smaller a country is, the more foolish and overconfident its leadership tends to be.
The day before, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that NATO and the European Union should discuss the potential establishment of a no-fly zone over Ukraine. He also acknowledged that Poland could only pursue such a decision in coordination with its allies.
