Text messages between Charlie Kirk’s shooting suspect and his partner published

Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, allegedly texted his roommate the day of the shooting and discussed his rifle, possible motive and other details on the planning surrounding the event, according to charging documents released by Utah County officials on Tuesday, CNN writes.

Robinson’s roommate told police about a note left by Robinson under the keyboard, which read, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.” Police say they found a photo of the note.

In the court filing, prosecutors described the roommate as “a biological male who was involved in a romantic relationship with Robinson.” Robinson’s roommate provided their text messages to police, according to the documents.

When asked if he killed Kirk, Robinson admitted that he committed the crime, adding that the police first “grabbed some crazy old dude, then interrogated someone in similar clothing.”

“I had planned to grab my rifle from my drop point shortly after, but most of that side of town got locked down. It’s quiet, almost enough to get out, but there’s one vehicle lingering,” Robinson wrote.

Responding to his partner’s question about the motives for the murder, he stated: “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out. If I am able to grab my rifle unseen, I will have left no evidence.”

Robinson stated that he had planned the murder for a little over a week.

Moments before he was killed at a Utah university Wednesday, Charlie Kirk was taking a question about transgender people and mass shootings.

“Do you know how many transgender Americans have been mass shooters over the last 10 years?” the event attendee asked. In response, Kirk said: “Too many.”

To remind, Charlie Kirk was against same-sex marriages, believing that marriage should be between a man and a woman.
