Who will be Iran’s new ambassador to Armenia?

Following the conclusion of Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani’s mission in Armenia and his farewell meeting with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, reports have emerged that Khalil Shirgholami may be appointed as Iran’s new ambassador in Yerevan, Tasnim reports.

Shirgholami currently serves as deputy director of research and studies at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) under Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
