Nikol to try to make tragedies he caused forgotten in 8 months, but I choose new phase of struggle, says Abraham Gasparyan
Nikol will soon address only one problem inside the country; the rest are secondary. He has eight months—by any means—to try to convince the Armenian people and the population of Armenia that all the tragedies and losses he has brought are temporary, and for the sake of a bright future, everything must be forgotten. If he succeeds, his chances of being re-elected to power will increase. If our people forget what happened to them over the past five years, then Nikol and his gang will go to the 2026 election at any cost, even at the price of blood, to retain power.
I am not talking about the election fraud machine, because in this matter Nikol has surpassed even his predecessors.
There is nothing more to talk about. Everything has been said—from criticism to diagnosis, from analysis to realistic proposals. Our resources—from intellectual to organizational, financial, informational, propaganda, and leadership—must be used correctly, and a peaceful alliance must be formed with our ambitions. In this case, we will be able to offer an alternative that is not war, but real and dignified peace, and the restoration of the state system. Nikol’s resources are propaganda, simple technologies, and the state apparatus that receives salaries and bonuses from the budget. He has nothing else… he is politically a mess wherever he is, able to skilfully manipulate a post-war defeated society. He considers us degenerate, humiliates us in the most extreme ways, mocks and ridicules us because he knows we are prisoners of our ambitions and cannot free ourselves from them… that is why every next step becomes bolder, more cynical, and supremely immoral, which we seem to digest.
It is possible to rise from the pit of defeat, but it must be done not by a deformed, and ridiculous version of the Armenian identity, but by an Armenian who does not accept humiliation, who has the vision of a strong and dignified state. I have taken the hand of this kind of Armenian and will continue the path with him until the desired success. I fully understand the heavy burden of responsibility. I have never feared difficulty. I have not retreated, I have not despaired or lost hope, I have not feared the violence and persecution of authorities. I have been on all fronts of struggle—from the street to TV broadcasts… everywhere I have conducted myself as a dignified Armenian man.
Let me repeat: the time for talk has passed, and it is time to move to equally important action. I will say it without beating around the bush.
Considering the extremely difficult situation in the country, the objective necessity of getting out of it, my commitment and that of like-minded people, our politically untainted biographies, moral perceptions, the path we have passed together, and dozens of other justified reasons… from today I am getting engaged in real politics; I am not forming a political party. Those who know me know that ideologically, I am by the side of those who want to build a real independent, just, and strong Armenia. I will continue discussions, excluding any cooperation with the current authorities, their satellites, or those who brought them to power.
I am grateful to my audience—for support, backing, and constructive, well-founded criticism. My greatest gratitude goes to the entire ABC Media team—for their professional and moral qualities, continuous striving for improvement, and professionalism. I am not leaving TV; I am simply stopping my authorial programs in order to use my time more effectively in political processes.
