The world wants an environment free from the so-called West and Western orientation, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani said in response to a question from ABC media.

“It is astonishing that the president of a country that has brought escalation to the Middle East, authored wars, financed wars and genocides, and committed crimes, now aspires to the Nobel Peace Prize. This is a country that needs war to ensure its existence. You see that this country and the Zionist regime strike Gaza, Qatar, and others. They attacked Iran and lied, claiming the reason was nuclear facilities. There are no such facilities in Syria, so why did they start a war against it?” the ambassador said.

Answering ABC media’s other question on what issues he had faced that could not be implemented in Armenia, the ambassador responded:

“The tasks that were set before me prior to my posting in Armenia, I have tried to fulfill, as evidenced by the responses of your authorities. Yes, there were challenges, but for us those challenges were not real problems.”
