Israel’s army halts offensive operations in Gaza

Israeli political leaders have ordered the military to halt the campaign to conquer Gaza City, The Times of Israel writes, referring to the Army Radio and the Kan public broadcaster report.

According to the radio station, the order was issued after meetings and discussions with officials from the U.S. government.

Army Radio says the order calls for operations to be reduced to “the minimum,” with troops on the ground strictly carrying out defensive maneuvers.

Hamas agreed yesterday to discuss U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal for a peace plan in the Gaza Strip.
