
Upcoming Putin-Aliyev meeting signals intention to discuss all urgent issues, says Peskov
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will meet Thursday in Dushanbe, where the Russian leader is on a state visit, Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said.
“Yes, there will be a meeting with Azerbaijani President Aliyev tomorrow,” Peskov confirmed. When asked about the agenda, the he replied:
“Bilateral relations are a priority. This is the main point on our agenda. The very fact that the meeting is taking place indicates the two leaders’ intention to discuss all urgent issues,” Peskov stated.
He added that while he could not speak on behalf of his Azerbaijani counterparts, the Russian side maintains a positive attitude.
