Trump’s Gaza plan currently best option to end conflict, says Lavrov

U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to resolve the conflict in Gaza, despite its general nature, is currently the best option available, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, according to TASS.

“President Trump has proposed his ‘20 points,’ in which the word ‘state’ is mentioned, but it is formulated in general terms. The West Bank is not mentioned in this context; the plan refers to the remaining part of the Gaza Strip. Still, we are realistic and understand that this is the best option currently on the table,” Lavrov said.

He noted that Russia considers Trump’s plan a positive step.
