Pashinyan disagrees with Putin on trade volumes between Armenia and Russia
At the CIS summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed differing views regarding bilateral trade between the two countries. Putin considered Pashinyan’s estimate to be understated.
“How much has our trade with Armenia grown?” Putin asked, discussing the benefits of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). This year it already stands at $4 billion,” Pashinyan said.
“No, more than that,” Putin disagreed.
“Last year it was about $9 billion,” Pashinyan attempted to correct himself.
“More than that,” Putin insisted. “It was more last year, and it will be more this year. It’s simply obvious.”
According to Moscow, mutual trade between Russia and Armenia in 2024 showed a sharp increase, reaching $11.7 billion.
