Moscow, Baku, and Tehran step up efforts to ensure seamless logistics from Barents and Baltic Seas to the Persian Gulf, says Overchuk
Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran are intensifying efforts to create a common goods market with uninterrupted logistics from the Barents and Baltic Seas to the Persian Gulf, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk said during a trilateral meeting on transport, energy, and customs cooperation between the three countries.
“We have very interesting work ahead — to establish a common goods market with seamless logistics, harmonized rules, and standards. Strong and dynamic relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, Russia and Iran, as well as Iran and Azerbaijan require the intensification of coordinated efforts to develop transport connectivity in the region and ensure uninterrupted logistics from the Barents and Baltic Seas to the Persian Gulf,” he stated.
Overchuk added that this initiative creates the best competitive conditions for producers, exporters, and importers in the three countries.
“This is work that will provide our economies with additional opportunities to expand, create new jobs, increase revenues, and improve people’s lives,” he added.
