Phones of clergy seized and not returned

The phones of 14 clergy members and 4 staffers who were taken in for questioning have been seized and not returned, Father Yesayi Artenyan told ABC Media.

“We are unable to get in touch with them,” Father Artenyan said.

On Oct. 15, clergy and staff from the Diocese of Aragatsotn were taken into custody. Bishop Mkrtich Proshyan, primate of the diocese, and Father Garegin Arsenyan of St. Gevorg Church in Mughni were arrested, while the diocese accountant was placed under house arrest as a preventive measure.
