The school-related cause of traffic jams

During the autumn holidays, morning traffic jams are lighter and traffic flows more freely. At the start of the school year, the Yerevan Municipality decided to begin classes in city schools 15 minutes earlier in an effort to ease congestion.

According to education expert Atom Mkhitaryan, the measure did not produce the expected results. However, the head of Yerevan’s Transport Department, Vazgen Harutyunyan, insists that the decision has been effective.
