Turkey appoints ambassador to Damascus for first time in 13 years

Turkey’s Deputy Foreign Minister Nuh Yilmaz will become the country’s ambassador to Syria, TASS reports, citing Turkish media.

Yilmaz will be Turkey’s first ambassador to Syria in 13 years. The Turkish embassy in Damascus was closed in March 2012 and only reopened last December following the change of power in Syria.
