
22 injured after earthquake in Turkey
Twenty-two people were injured in Turkey’s northwestern Balıkesir province after jumping from balconies in panic during an earthquake. Four of the injured have already been discharged from hospitals.
According to Governor Ustaoğlu, there have been no fatalities or people trapped under rubble.
As noted, three unused buildings and one former shop collapsed as a result of the quake. Following the main tremor, a total of 102 aftershocks were recorded, the strongest of which had a magnitude of 4.3.
Schools in the province have been closed for one day.
