Turkey to acquire fighter jets from UK
Turkey has signed a contract with the United Kingdom to purchase 20 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, with the deal valued at £8 billion ($10.7 billion), according to a statement from the office of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
This is the first contract for the sale of UK-made fighter jets since 2017 and the largest in the past 20 years.
Downing Street clarified that the deal will support the creation of 20,000 jobs in the UK.
The first batch of aircraft is scheduled for delivery in 2030.
