Turkey urges PKK to halt activities in Iraq and Syria, not just in Turkey

The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) must cease its operations not only in Turkey but also in Iraq and Syria, Anadolu Agency reports, referring to Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

“Our sincere wish and expectation is that the organization, as it has done in Turkey, will stop armed struggle and terrorist activities in Iraq, withdraw from territories it controls, and also leave occupied areas in Syria. This is extremely important,” Fidan said during a joint press conference in Baghdad with Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.

Earlier, the PKK had announced a complete withdrawal of its forces from Turkey.
