Why don’t people respect law enforcement?

In Armenia, “if force is not used, the rule of law will not function” — this is the view of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, under whose initiative a new division has been established within the police force — the Police Guard.

The police are expanding their ranks, though the purpose of this increase remains open to interpretation.

Experts describe the current situation in a single word — “police state.” They question how, while the size of the army continues to decline, the number of police personnel keeps growing.
