Russian wheat’s first shipment reaches Armenia via Azerbaijan, says Government

A train carrying Russian wheat (15 wagons) has arrived in Armenia, passing through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia, the Armenian Government reports.

“The lifting of restrictions on cargo transportation to Armenia by Azerbaijan is an important step toward restoring regional communications and promoting economic cooperation,” reads the Government statement.

According to the Government, this development represents one of the practical implementations of the agreements reached in Washington and contributes to the institutionalization of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

“The initiative is particularly significant in the context of strengthening mutual trust and advancing the peace agenda,” the statement concluded.
