Trump says Russia tried for 10 years to end Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict but failed, while US did it

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that he can resolve certain regional conflicts “literally within an hour” without any assistance from the United Nations, TASS writes.

“I solved some of them in an hour — without any help from the UN,” Trump said during a business forum in Miami, commenting on his efforts to resolve conflicts around the world.

The U.S. president also accused the UN of deliberately cutting off the teleprompter displaying the text of his speech during the 80th session of the General Assembly in September. “All I got from them was a broken teleprompter. They did it on purpose. And I think I gave my best speech,” he noted.

Trump went on to recall the signing of agreements between Armenia and Azerbaijan aimed at normalizing relations, mediated by the United States. He noted that he discussed the issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin two weeks ago.

According to Trump, Putin told him during their conversation that Russia had “tried for 10 years to end this war” but “couldn’t do it,” while “the United States did.”
