Russian wheat’s first shipment reaches Armenia via Azerbaijan, says Papoyan
The first shipment of wheat from Russia has reached Armenia via Azerbaijan, Armenia’s Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said in an appearance on Public TV.
“This is Russian wheat, which usually arrived via the Verkhny Lars route. You know the kind of obstacles there were — long queues, and overall the transport connections were quite limited.
The wheat came by rail through Russia to Azerbaijan, and since there is currently no direct railway connection between Armenia and Azerbaijan, it entered Georgia and then proceeded from Georgia to Armenia,” Papoyan explained.
