
Meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani parliamentary delegations held in Istanbul
A bilateral meeting between the parliamentary delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan was held in Istanbul on Nov. 18 on the margins of the 23rd autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
As reported by the National Assembly, it took place on the basis of the agreement reached between the speakers of the Parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan during the discussions held in Geneva on Oct. 21.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized the positive role of the Washington summit and exchanged views on the agreements reached, the next steps aimed at strengthening peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the importance of parliamentary support for the process in both countries.
The role of parliaments in implementing confidence-building measures between the two countries was also touched upon. Both sides emphasized the importance of constructive dialogue between parliamentarians in international organizations.
