
Street after Mesrop Mashtots opens in Astana
A street in the central part of Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, has been ceremoniously opened and named after Mesrop Mashtots, the creator of the Armenian alphabet, Armenpress reports.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, Armenian Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, Kazakh Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balaeva, and other officials.
In her opening remarks, Balaeva emphasized that the opening of Mesrop Mashtots Street in Astana is an important event.
