CSTO secretary general says they hope Armenia will make a well-considered decision

The CSTO Secretariat informs Armenia of decisions being made, and Yerevan does not interfere with them, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov stated.

“Armenia has freezed its participation in the organization. We inform them at the Secretariat level about all materials and documents being discussed and adopted. They do not take part in the discussions, but they do not obstruct the adoption of these documents in a limited format, as occurred today in the Collective Security Council. All these documents were sent to Armenia—they are informed, and we have received a document from them stating that they do not oppose the adoption of these documents in the limited format,” the secretary general said.

“We hope that, after some time, Armenia’s political leadership will make a well-considered decision, and we will move forward together,” Tasmagambetov added.

According to Tasmagambetov, the issue of Armenia is regularly raised not only at meetings of the Collective Security Council and press conferences, but also in practically every meeting with journalists.” He stated that “Armenia is an independent, sovereign state and has the right to join or suspend its activities in certain organizations.”
