Lebanese-Armenian Vicken Euljekjian’s release from Azerbaijani captivity in Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry spotlight

Lebanese-Armenian Vicken Euljekjian’s release from Azerbaijani captivity in Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry spotlight

During a meeting with Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji, Hakob Bagratouni—member of the ARF Bureau, the party’s representative for the Middle East, and a member of Lebanon’s Parliament—raised the issue of the prompt release of Lebanese-Armenian Vicken Euljekjian, who is being unlawfully held in Baku.

Minister Rajji noted that the matter remains at the center of the Lebanese side’s attention and that the necessary applications have been made. He emphasized, however, that it is important for the Armenian side to continue pursuing the case.

The call for Euljekjian’s release has drawn widespread attention due to concerns about his health.

Earlier, in an interview with ABC Media, his wife said that her husband is unable to walk or stand. Prior to his capture, Vigen suffered from a herniated disc and was receiving treatment. His condition has deteriorated in Baku since his imprisonment.
