Georgia unwilling to make concessions on Abkhazia and South Ossetia, says PM Kobakhidze

Georgian PM Irakli Kobakhidze has described the restoration of diplomatic relations with Russia before the withdrawal of Russian troops from Abkhazia and South Ossetia as a “red line,” Kommersant reports.

He also emphasized that such discussions are impossible as long as Moscow recognizes the independence of these territories.

“For us, the most important thing is to maintain our principled position and adhere to our red lines. These red lines are connected to the issue of de-occupation. There can be no compromise here, and our position will not be reconsidered — I am stating this clearly,” Kobakhidze said.
