Narek Mkrtchyan meets with Donald Trump

Ambassador Narek Mkrtchyan has met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, the embassy reports.

During the meeting, which took place as part of an event organized for newly appointed ambassadors, Ambassador Mkrtchyan thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his consistent efforts toward establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as for the historic agreement reached and documents signed at the White House on Aug. 8.

In turn, President Donald Trump congratulated the Armenian people, emphasizing that they deserve lasting peace, and reaffirmed his unconditional support for peace-oriented processes.

President Trump also particularly highlighted the leadership of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his significant role in the established peace process.

President Trump also conveyed a personally inscribed gift to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan as a sign of high appreciation, the statement said.
