Survey says main challenges facing Armenia identified

What are the most important issues facing Armenia? 37.1 percent of the survey participants mentioned security-related issues, 23.4 percent mentioned the issue of low pensions and salaries, 13.8 percent mentioned the economic situation, 13.3 percent mentioned unemployment, and 12 percent mentioned inflation, Aram Navasardyan, Director of MPG – Gallup International in Armenia, announced at a press conference today.

The poor state of the education system was mentioned by 11.3 percent of respondents, the issue of border clarification by 9.8 percent, the poor state of the healthcare system by 8.6 percent, the social situation, poverty by 5.3 percent, air pollution by 5.1 percent, the state-Church conflict by 4.7 percent, and the return of prisoners by 3.0 percent.

The survey was conducted among 1,000 people between Dec. 24–27.
