Iran responds to Trump’s threat

U.S. President Donald Trump should understand that American interference in Iran’s internal affairs would be tantamount to chaos across the entire region and the destruction of U.S. interests, Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has said.

According to Larijani, the Iranian authorities distinguish between the views of Iranians expressing protest and the positions of what he described as “disruptive elements.”

“Given the positions adopted by Israeli officials and Trump, the situation has become clear: we consider the positions of protesting merchants separately from those of disruptive elements, and Trump must know that American interference in internal affairs is equivalent to chaos throughout the region and the destruction of U.S. interests,” the Iranian official wrote on X.

Iranian Supreme Leader’s adviser Ali Shamkhani also responded to Trump’s statement, saying that “the hand of the invader will be cut off before it can harm Iran’s security.”

Mass protests are taking place in Iran, leading to clashes between law enforcement and demonstrators in various parts of the country. Against this backdrop, Trump has threatened to launch military action against Iran if the country’s authorities kill protesters.
