Pashinyan: We made even more progress in Brussels three days ago. Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity with the territory of 86.600 square kilometers

During the Fourth Council of Europe Summit in Reykjavik, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor. He noted that sending an international fact-finding mission to Nagorno Karabakh and the Lachin Corridor is a necessity. “The unblocking of the Lachin Corridor is the most urgent priority for the Republic of Armenia. It is important that negotiations between Baku and Stepanakert begin to ensure the security of the Armenian population of Nagorno Karabakh and to protect human rights,” said Pahinyan. Referring to the recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity by Armenia, he noted: “We made even more progress in Brussels three days ago. It was stated that Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity with the territory of 86.600 square kilometers, and Azerbaijan recognizes the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia with the territory of 29.800 square kilometers.” According to Pashinyan, as early as on October 6 2022, in Prague the two parties agreed that the basis for the normalization of relations would be the Alma-Ata Declaration, under which the administrative boundaries of Soviet Armenia and Soviet Azerbaijan turn into state boundaries.
