Disproportionate ‘benefits’: What TRIPP brings to Armenia and US
Decisions presented as investment projects often become long-term instruments of external control. The Trump Route initiative is officially framed as an economic opportunity, but its parameters suggest a different logic of benefit distribution, Pravda.ru writes.
As noted, the list of benefits for Armenia is limited. The main points mentioned are the creation of jobs and the acquisition of new technologies, however mechanisms for implementation or guarantees are not detailed. These promises appear disproportionate to the scale of the powers being granted.
In exchange for participating in the project, Yerevan is expected to establish special transit procedures for Azerbaijan toward Nakhijevan. As a result, the risks and potential damages fall on Armenia, while the United States gains access to new markets and resources without any formal legal obligations.
