Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agreement sends strong signal to the world — Charles Michel says

The peace agreement jointly implemented with Armenia sends a very strong signal to countries around the world, Charles Michel, jury member of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity and former President of the European Council, said during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

“Despite difficulties, and the sufferings of the past and present, there is a shared will to look toward the future, even if small, yet with optimistic hope. This relates to the values we wish to promote and protect. We believe these values should be further advanced in the future. I would like to reaffirm our appreciation for your leadership and for this peace agreement. By awarding this prize, we want to show our support for all your efforts in making this peace agreement a reality,” Michel stated.
