‘We stand with Armenia and the Armenian people’: Moldova’s president says at PACE
Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed support for Armenia and the Armenian people during the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
“We stand with Armenia and the Armenian people, who are working to overcome pressures and protect their democratic future,” Sandu said.
She noted that Moldova is not the only country facing challenges from Russia. According to her, Armenia is also becoming a target of the same strategy: “weakening sovereignty, influencing democratic choices, and exploiting internal vulnerabilities.”
Sandu also cited Georgia as an example: “Unfortunately, we see that in Georgia, despite the courage of the Georgian people, who continue to fight for democratic values, Russia has managed to pull Georgia back into its orbit, showing that resisting comes at the cost of war.”
