Trump says major US forces approaching Iran

US President Donald Trump has announced that major American forces are moving closer to Iran, expressing hope that Tehran will agree to a deal. Speaking to supporters in Iowa, Trump addressed the Iran issue, reiterating his claim that the United States destroyed Tehran’s nuclear capabilities in June 2025, TASS writes.

“One more month, and they would have had nuclear weapons. We had to do it,” Trump said, referring to strikes on Iranian nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

“By the way, another large, beautiful armada is moving toward Iran right now, so we’ll see. I hope they agree to a deal,” the US president added.

It is unclear whether Trump was referring to the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier and its accompanying warships, which arrived in the Middle East on Monday, or to another strike group, the Times of Israel reports.
