Vance discusses prisoner release in Baku, Azatutyun writes
US Vice President JD Vance discussed the release of prisoners in Baku, following his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the vice president’s press secretary said, Azatutyun reports.
“President Aliyev and Vice President Vance discussed the next steps of President Trump’s initiative to establish peace in Armenia and Azerbaijan. They focused on trade and prosperity, technology, and diplomatic relations, and also talked about upcoming measures, including agreements and authorizations under the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP), as well as confidence-building measures such as the release of prisoners, American investments, and regional economic integration,” the vice president’s press secretary said.
The US side, however, did not specify what response came from Azerbaijan or whether any agreements on these issues were reached.
Before his flight from Yerevan, Vance had promised to raise the issue of Armenian prisoners during his visit to Baku.
