Ayatollah Alireza Arafi claims Iran’s political leadership

Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, a member of Iran’s interim governing council, announced on X that he is assuming political leadership of the country, stating that revenge for the death of Ali Khamenei will not be delayed.

“From now on, I am taking over Iran’s political leadership. Revenge for Ali Khamenei’s death will come as soon as possible,” he wrote on X.

Earlier today, it was reported that Iran has formed an interim governing council, whose members will jointly manage the country until a new leader is selected.
