Iran’s deputy foreign minister says country hasn’t struck Azerbaijan

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told an Azerbaijani news outlet that Iran has not attacked Azerbaijan.

“We do not target neighboring countries. Iran’s policy is to strike only the bases of adversaries, including those of the United States and the Zionist regime, which operate in the region and are used to attack Iranian civilians,” the diplomat said.

“We have stated from the outset that if there are any military bases in the region being used to attack Iran, we will strike them. This is our policy,” Gharibabadi added.
