White House to support Iran’s new leader’s assassination if he refuses concessions, WSJ writes
Israel, with US backing, may plan an assassination attempt against Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who is considered unwilling to make concessions, The Wall Street Journal reports, citing current and former US officials.
US President Donald Trump has reportedly told advisors that he would support the idea of removing Khamenei if the leader refuses to make concessions to the US, particularly regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
However, Washington considers Khamenei a hardline politician and does not expect him to abandon Iran’s nuclear ambitions or negotiate favorable terms with the United States.
