UN Security Council adopts resolution on Iran
The United Nations Security Council has adopted a resolution demanding that Iran immediately halt attacks on several Arab countries. The document lists targets in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East that have been struck by Iran, but it does not mention actions by the US or Israel.
“The adopted resolution condemns Iran’s attacks on targets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan and demands their immediate cessation. The resolution does not mention the aggressors — the US and Israel — nor does it call on these two countries to stop attacks against Iran,” RIA Novosti writes.
The resolution was supported by 13 countries, while Russia and China abstained.
