Trump says Washington and Tehran engaged in diplomatic talks

US President Donald Trump has stated that diplomatic dialogue is underway between Washington and Tehran amid the ongoing tensions between the two countries.

“We are negotiating [with Iran], but I don’t think they are ready yet, although they are quite close [to an agreement with the US],” Trump said in response to questions from reporters about the diplomatic contacts between the U.S. and Iran.
