Peskov: It is important that Armenia’s de jure and de facto membership in the International Criminal Court not adversely affect our bilateral relations

It is important that Armenia’s de jure and de facto membership in the International Criminal Court not adversely affect our bilateral relations. As RIA Novosti reports, Spokesperson for the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said this to the press with regard to the fact that today the Rome Statute comes into force in Armenia.

“It is important that Armenia’s de jure and de facto membership in the International Criminal Court not adversely affect our bilateral relations. These relations are important to Moscow. There is nothing to comment on in this regard. In general, it is the sovereign right of Armenia,” he noted.

To remind, Armenia became the 124th full member of the ICC on Feb. 1, having earlier sent the organization the documents confirming its ratification of the Rome Statute.
