The government has failed in many points included in its
pre-election program. Now, I will refer to only those related to the Artsakh
issue. Member of the Hayakve initiative Menua Soghomonyan said this during the
NA hearings on the Hayakve bill.
Soghomonyan noted that the major point in the Government’s
pre-election plan for the coming years was to ensure the security of the people
of Artsakh, the peaceful settlement of the issue and the status issue. However,
Pashinyan recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan with the famous
“Prague” statement of Oct. 6, 2022, thereby trampling on this point
of the government’s plan.
“Our citizens have been issued passports with the map of
Armenia; here Armenia and Artsakh are depicted together. Now, who is going to
tell them why Artsakh is not included in the ‘Crossroads of Peace’ project
brought forward by the authorities,” he said and added that the
government did not receive a vote of confidence to recognize Artsakh as part of
Azerbaijan.
“I want to remind the KP MPs that they did not receive
a vote of confidence to beg Aliyev for peace and to strip the citizens of
Artsakh — who are RA citizens — of their citizenship and to make them leave the
country under the name of refugees. On behalf of 58,000 citizens that have joined
Hayakve, I demand that you vote for the bill and not bury democracy in
Armenia,” Soghomonyan said.
