Alexei Navalny died in the penal colony No. 3 in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the regional department of the Federal Penitentiary Service reports.
“On Feb. 16, 2024, convict A. A. Navalny felt unwell after a walk in the penal colony No. 3, almost immediately losing consciousness. Medical workers from the institution immediately arrived, and an emergency medical team was called,” reads the message.
“All the necessary resuscitation measures were carried out, but they did not produce positive results. The paramedics confirmed the convict’s death. The causes of death are being identified,” reads the message.
