Lemkin Institute makes statement on Azerbaijan’s genocidal policy

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention has issued a statement, expressing its deep concern about the recent Azerbaijani military escalation in Syunik Province, following Aliyev’s re-election.

“We are further concerned about recent proposals by the Armenian Government made in response to Azerbaijan’s threats to launch an aggressive war if Armenia did not make significant changes to its legal and symbolic identity, including changes to Armenia’s Constitution and to the use of significant cultural symbols like Mount Ararat. These proposals erode Armenia’s sovereignty and risk reinforcing President Aliyev’s ideological goals,” reads the statement.

The Lemkin Institute views these statements of Azerbaijan as part of its genocidal agenda.
