National Hero of Armenia Vazgen Sargsyan would have turned 65 today. During the First Artsakh War, Vazgen Sargsyan made a huge contribution to the liberation of Artsakh, first taking over the command of volunteer groups and then initiating the building of a regular army. After the end of the war, he held the post of defense minister, and then that of prime minister. Vazgen Sargsyan was killed in 1999 in the terrorist attack on the National Assembly of Armenia.
