Several Israeli strikes shot down over Damascus

The Israel Defense Forces attacked a number of military positions in Damascus, while the Syrian Air Defense Force shot down several missiles, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

Earlier, RIA Novosti’s correspondent reported that explosions were heard in Damascus, the capital of Syria.

“Around 2:10 a.m. today, the Israeli army launched an air attack from the occupied Golan Heights of Syria, making strikes on a number of military positions in Damascus Governorate. Our air defense systems retaliated by shooting down some of the missiles, causing only material damage,” reads the statement.
