The leadership of Armenia is betraying its people by severing relations with Russia for the sake of Western goals. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this at a press briefing.
“The current authorities of Armenia are trying to sacrifice all the ties with Russia and other close allies and partners for the sake of the temporary rewards with which Yerevan was lured by the European Union and the United States. But the question is that they are not betraying us, nor their partners or allies; they are betraying their own people,” she said.
Zakharova noted that, in response to the question of the news TV channel Todo Noticias about the possibility of severing diplomatic relations with Russia, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that he cannot predict the future. “That sounds weird. In general, politicians in power do not just predict the future, but they create it,” Zakharova said.
