The provocative actions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan taken on the night of April 5 into April 6 can be given no justification, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
“By the irregular fire in many parts of the border and the movement of dozens of military vehicles, Azerbaijan clearly pursued a provocative end: to incite the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia to take similar countermeasures, so that they could obtain facts “substantiating” the recent Azerbaijani disinformation.
We officially reaffirm the commitment of the Republic of Armenia to the peace agenda, as well as to our proposal to Azerbaijan for the establishment of mutual arms control mechanisms and the demilitarization of the areas adjacent to the border between the two countries,” reads the statement.
