Every Armenian living in the Diaspora should give his knowledge and time to the homeland: Abraham Gasparyan to Armenian students in Brussels
For the first time, a lecturer from Armenia was hosted at Brussels University. Director of Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation, Candidate of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Abraham Gasparyan had a meeting with Armenian students.
Gasparyan’s series of lectures in Europe came to a close with this meeting.
“Every Armenian in the Diaspora has a responsibility to morally and physically support his homeland, be it in the form of knowledge, encouragement or time,” Gasparyan said, greeting his young compatriots and introduced Genesis Armenia Think Tank and Foundation and the projects it implemented after the 44-day war to them.
From the center of Azerbaijani studies opened in Artsakh to Hatsekats bakery set up in Yerevan, from training courses for Armenian history teachers to the establishment of a military science classroom. Abraham Gasparyan presented the journey of Genesis Armenia, highlighting the strategies designed for the effective development of key sectors of the state.
Gasparyan spoke about Artsakh, the disastrous situation in Armenia, and, without filtering any information, raised the alarm, “Yes, we are losing our homeland.”
Is there a plan of action, and how can we, Armenian students, contribute to the process of the development of Armenia, considering the fact that the Armenian authorities do not stand by us? The students were most interested in this question.
“We need to create a system, and you can become a part of that process with your intellectual capacity,” Gasparyan said, urging the students to devote an hour a week to the homeland. “A homeland, the name of which makes us go weak at the knees, wherever we are in the world,” Gasparyan added.
Among the audience was one of Gasparyan’s 2,000 students, who was concerned about the fact that students studying outside the Republic of Armenia are not able to give answers formed by unified theses about the Artsakh Cause, the Armenian Genocide, etc.
Gasparyan said that Genesis Armenia has developed a handout of such content, the publication of which was delayed on account of the Turkish operation aimed at occupying Artsakh. “We will do our best to deliver it to you as soon as possible,” Gasparyan said.
At the end of the meeting, they decided to continue their meetings online until the next visit, as well as run podcasts with the involvement of Armenian students.
