The British company British Petroleum indirectly funded
Azerbaijani aggression against the Armenians of Artsakh, Global Witness
reports.
As The Guardian writes, BP’s fossil fuel projects in
Azerbaijan helped fund the military aggression. Since 2020, BP has provided
Baku with oil and gas supplies worth almost $35 billion (£28.6 billion).
Azerbaijan’s share of two large oil and gas projects run by the British oil
company has increased its military spending for four times since 2020.
Senior Campaigner at Global Witness Dominic Eagleton noted
that BP’s long-standing partnership with Aliyev’s dictatorship has funded
Azerbaijan’s militarisation and aggression against Armenia.
