CSTO Secretary General: The situation in the South Caucasus is grave, but the draft resolution, aimed at easing it, still stands

The situation in the South Caucasus is grave. CSTO Secretary
General Imangali Tasmagambetov said this at the meeting of the CIS Security Council
secretaries.

“With regard to the difficult situation in the South
Caucasus, I would like to note once again that the CSTO draft resolution, aimed
at easing the situation in the region — which, however was not adopted in
November last year — still stands if a consensus is reached,” he said.

As the CSTO Secretary General said, the threat of terrorist
activity, illegal immigration, illegal drug and arms trafficking persists along
the southern borders of the organization’s area of responsibility.
